The experience in healthcare can be complicated and hard to navigate, making is already a challenging time that much harder for Consumers and the operational teams supporting them.
In an industry littered with competing, overly complex, and disconnected products, our Advocates play an important role to support our Consumers throughout their health care journey.
This Director of Digital Product role is aligned to the Advocate Experience journey team focused on the operational processes and digital tools that enable our service delivery experience.
The Advocate Experience journey exists to create the best employee experience to empower our operational teams to serve our Consumers in a timely manner with ease, quality, and compassion.
This role is responsible for leading the Digital Product Management function and the organization focused on enabling the human-powered experience by leveraging AI/ML to better prepare and assist Advocates during live interactions and drive automation throughout the end-to-end serviced delivery experience.
This includes driving Product Management best practices and setting the strategic vision for a portfolio of products to support UHC s operational scale by delivering a best-in-class experience that enables consistency and quality.
This leader will own a portfolio of experiences that will deliver on United Health Group s mission of helping members live healthier lives and making the health system work better for everyone.
As a Director of Digital Product, you will drive the strategy for the Advocate Experience focused on developing experience initiatives that will impact the digital tools to enable the best experience in health care for our employees and for those we serve.
You will lead an origination of Digital Product Managers and leaders that will leverage insights and analytics to develop a strong understanding of consumer and employee behavior, while partnering with the business to define key aspects of the omni-channel journey.
The role involves partnering with a cross-functional team throughout the process starting with problem identification and following through to implementation and measurement to develop high-value, reusable, intuitive, AI/ML enabled experiences that empower Advocates.
The individual in this role will be expected to use product and agile methodologies to transform healthcare experiences at speed and scale which ultimately, drive clear benefits for consumer outcomes, increased financial savings, and employee retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Vision & strategy:
Defines experience outcomes, business impacts, and strategic roadmaps.
Builds the business cases and leads stakeholder alignment for the experience strategy.
Sets the vision by communicating, building and refining the backlog of projects & features while collecting input from stakeholders (cross-functional and cross-business).
Proactively identifies new initiatives/themes and builds out backlog items under these new initiatives or themes based on quantified business value Delivery:
Leads a Digital Product organization to drive software delivery lifecycle from conception to release, iteration and maintenance, driving the right product portfolio for the experience and prioritizing work in backlogs to ensure products are delivering to experience expectations.
Responsible for accepting all new features.
Works with agile teams to iterate and build; focus on prioritizing the business value from different pieces of the work to improve speed to market for those features that will drive the most value to the company.
Partners with implementation teams to launch service and digital products for customers and colleagues.
Works across business stakeholders and journey teams to deliver with a high degree of quality and consistencyOutcomes:
Maintains a clear vision on the highest value experience backlog items and make trade-offs based on team capacity to determine the backlog.
Continually re-prioritize team tasks based on new information from the team, discussing with stakeholders, and likelihood to drive business outcomes Research & Human Centered Design:
Partners closely with the UX team to leverage human-centered design in the creation of amazing experiences that consumers will love, bringing together strategy and execution Experience Analytics:
Partners closely with Consumer Experience & Resolution to identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement using data analytics, as well as customer/colleague feedback and pain points.
Understands existing processes and systems in depth for those transactions/experiences for which this role is responsibleResults & Metrics:
Partners closely with Product Operations to define, track and monitor Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Ensures correct data and instrumentation for the experience and related sub-processes; uses data to improve experiences.

years of experience leading strategic initiatives and development and implementation 6
years of working with product management or experience teams to deliver solutions using agile methodologies that are directly aligned to meeting end-user needs and achieving business outcomesExperience leading leaders and large product teams (indirect and directs) Solid written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate and inspire at all levels, including addressing opportunities, risks, and strategic positioning with business and technology leadersProven record of displaying ownership, urgency, and sound decision-making skills Extensive experience planning and managing large-scale, strategic product experience initiatives, including capital planning, across matrixed organizationsSolid analytical and quantitative skills that align with an OKR based approachWillingness to challenge the status quo and try new or untested ideas and approaches Preferred

The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
