Job Description:
Summary:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the VP, Corporate Leave of Absence Manager and Benefit Administrator, and department staff with the administration of the employee health and welfare benefit programs for all subsidiaries of ORI.
In addition, provides assistance with the administration of leaves of absence and of ADP's Health & Welfare Service Engine.
Essential Functions:
Assists with the administration of the Company's leave of absence program by writing and sending letters to eligible employees notifying them of their rights under applicable Federal and state leave laws.
These laws may include, but are not limited to, Federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA) and Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL).
Assists with leave of absence follow-up, which includes the application for benefits such as state disability, if applicable, Paid Leave of Absence Benefits Policy (PLABP) and LTD benefits, as well as obtaining appropriate documentation from health care providers regarding the employee's leave.
Assists the VP, Corporate Leave of Absence Manager and Benefit Administrator , and department staff to ensure all health benefit plans are administered correctly and efficiently, while adhering to regulatory and corporate deadlines.
Acts as a professional liaison for Old Republic Benefits Advisory Group (ORBAG) members to answer questions regarding health and welfare benefit plans and ADP's Health & Welfare Service Engine (HWSE).
Demonstrates broad knowledge of different health insurance plans, including High Deductible Health Plans and PPO Plans.
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments through regular audits.
Responds to employee benefit plan questions and assists employees regarding benefit claim issues and plan changes.
Assists with the preparation and distribution of written communication to employees and the ORBAG, including, but not limited to annual enrollment communication, annual Summary Annual Report, Pension Plan Funding Notice, Medicare Part D Notice, and workers' compensation compliance notices.
Assists with the annual audits of the Company's retirement plans.
Files workers' compensation claims.
Assists with proofing and editing benefit guides, benefit plan booklets, Summary Plan Descriptions and Plan Documents.
Demonstrates the ability to conduct independent research to ensure benefit and leave of absence related company policies are current and in compliance with federal and state laws.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associate or bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Two to 5 years' experience in human resources and/or employee benefits.
Must be able to work independently.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees, and vendors.
Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Research and analytical skills.
Knowledge of employee benefits and laws.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
ADP and Workday experience preferred.

Sedentary work:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
